Budget & savings rate calculator

Enter monthly income and expenses. Everything else, savings rate, the 50/30/20 split, emergency-fund runway, is computed live in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

Left unassigned: €400

Savings rate: 16.7%

The 50/30/20 rule

A simple starting split: 50% of after-tax income to needs, 30% to wants, 20% to savings and debt payoff. It's a default, not a law, adjust it to your real fixed costs and goals, the calculator above just shows you where you stand against it.

Emergency fund runway

A common target is 3 to 6 months of essential expenses (your "needs" figure above) held in cash before investing aggressively. Runway is what you have already set aside divided by those essential expenses, so it answers the only question that matters here: how long you could go on without income. Below it, how far you are from each target and how many months of your current saving would close the gap.

The exports carry the budget and the yardsticks used to judge it: every line with its amount and share, the 50/30/20 targets, the savings rate, and how far the emergency fund is from three and six months. The link carries your figures in the address itself, nothing is stored on any server, so treat it as private: it is your budget, written in a URL.

Educational tool, not financial advice. Your real budget depends on your situation, use this as a starting point, not a rule.
